Saturdays Surf NYC opened its first flagship NYC store in 2009, and just like that, a new phenomenon was born. The premise is quite simple really: casual weekend basics in wearable colors and no-frill fits that easily become your favorite wardrobe staples. And then of course, there is the surfing angle, the art dimension and the great coffee which just made the first store the perfect hangout for a downtown NYC denizen. The international expansion of Saturdays has been quick and extremely impressive. After opening stores in Tokyo, Nagoya and Kobe, Saturdays just opened their new store in Osaka.
The new store in Osaka is pretty damn cool. It occupies two floors with the second floor housing the entire collection of Saturdays clothing shoes and accessories. The first floor has the cafe, surfboards and books. It’s worth mentioning that this cafe is actually the first time that Saturdays is venturing into the realm of food. The cuisine is overseen by the highly revered Chef Makoto Asamoto of Unité, Inc, and he has created an original menu that includes baked goods, organic juices, tea, beer and of course, coffee.
This is a no-brainer – if you are ever in Osaka, you certainly have to clear some time in your schedule for a store visit.
The store is located at 4-13-22 Minami Senba, Chuo-Ku, Osaka 542-0081.
