The San Francisco Chronicle today reported on an innovative new clothing venture by ex-MBL player (California Angels and Cincinnati Red) Sam Taylor. Silent Panda is a nascent brand that Taylor dreamed up after his previous athleisure outfit TESH (The Evolution Starts Here) folded due to losing a main distributor (Sports Authority).

Silent Panda, named for the quiet strength needed to make it in the fashion industry, is heavily reliant on technology as its core differentiator. Silent Panda apparel is made with cutting edge wearable technology, innovative material, interactive label QR codes that can be swiped to activate a phone app with exclusive content and future discounts, sleek versatile silhouettes and streetstyle point of view. For further differentiation, Taylor expects to create a variety of capsule collections with sports icons and other celebrities to form the foundation of a social media-like following to build strong bonds. Silent Panda will launch on 10/10/2017 along with an e-commerce site . See some Silent Panda items and a minimalist promotional video below.
