We are really excited about this one. Respected leather product maker Will Leather Goods has recently announced that it will be releasing seven one-of-a-kind, custom bicycles at random times and locations throughout 2014. Each bicycle will be designed through the lens of WILL (Will Adler, Creative Director). The underlying inspiration behind this project is to highlight various types of leather and empasize the significance of leather in American culture.
The first WILL bicycle, shown above pays homage to an old western, pre-revolution period and the original mode of transportation in America – horseback. This remarkable creation features an ornate bicycle seat, two saddlebags, and intricate bridle leather trimmings throughout the frame. The Will Leather Goods slogan “Discover Your Will “is also embossed on one side of the frame. The handlebars are wrapped in oiled bridle leather, as are the fenders and chain guard. The bicycle is currently on display at WILL’s flagship store in Venice Beach, California. It is available to purchase for $10,000.
Six more bicycles will be released throughout the year with the next one scheduled to be released in April at an undisclosed location in NYC.
