Wordsmiths United (WSU) comes through again with another banger collection that makes you want to explore the deep blue ocean of possibilities out there.  The collection titled “Pacific” is pure and refreshing.  There are no frills in this showing.  It is strictly wearable originality with crisp and very sharp shapes and silhouettes.  WSU explains that the Pacific collection’s concept was initially prompted by a 1970s electronic record of the same name, which then evolved into a meditation on identity. With “Pacific” WSU explores how sound and tone can conjure images of color and form and how all these dynamics come together to define culture and personality.  This Toronto-based brand is the opposite of shallow as you can tell from their deep philosophical references.  The name “Pacific” is very appropriate for a brand and collection that prefers diving deep to floating on the surface.  WSU takes fashion to a place where very few dare to go. WSU understands that fashion is not only important because of its utility – they are also fully aware that fashion can have real meaning that affects the way a people live.

As you would expect, variations of blues make up the collection which has a sporty and modern feel to it.  The collection exudes a somber contemplative aura that dovetails seamlessly with its strong oceanic/borderless philosophy.  Kudos WSU!
