Alexandre Mattiussi is the gifted designer behind the French brand AMI. He cut his teeth at luxury brands Givenchy and Dior, and his knack for superb styling truly shines through in the expansive collection he created for S/S 2014. As far as the gentleman he’s trying to dress, Mattiussi casts a wide net. He might be a bohemian world traveler, a dapper Wall Street type, a Brooklyn hipster, or even an Ivy League prepster. It usually ends up being a mistake when a designer aims to do this much, but we have to say that his eye for colors, textures, prints, fabrics and most important tailoring is spot on!
Keep an eye on this brand – we expect some really big things from it. If you’re in NYC, you can get it on the fun because it is currently carried at Barneys.
