Brooklyn may be known as a borrough of New York City, but it’s truly its own planet. Dig deep enough into it, and you will find all kinds of diverse gems and treasures.
One of the rare Brooklyn finds we recently unearthed is a bespoke fragrance studio named Joya. It was originaly founded in 2006 by the Yale-educated Frederick Bouchardy. He created Joya as a candle company in 2006, and since then, he has done some noeworthy collabs with well-known brands like Opening Ceremony, Malin + Goetz & Barneys, NY. Joya recently unveiled a new 1,000 sq. foot space at 19 Vanderbilt Avenue designed by the Taylor and Miller Architecture firm, and it’s truly a sight to behold. It features a wide range of candle and fragrance offerings, and it also offers tours, workshops and unique art installations.

The next time you’re enjoying your weekend, and you have the urge to see something new, we suggest that you check the Joya space out. Visit their site here.
