When you bring up the topic of heritage menswear brands, Barbour has to be mentioned in the higher echelons of that convo. The brand was started way back in 1894 in the coastal town of South Shields in England. Even though the heralded brand currently has free-standing stores in the USA, Germany, Holland, New Zealand, Japan (to name a few), the company still operates a factory in its founding town. It’s at this location where the majority of Barbour’s iconic waxed utility jackets are manufactured. For the brand’s FW16 lookbook, they shine the spotlight on the rugged, functional attire that brought the name “Barbour” to prominence. In addition to fitted leather jackets and motorcycle-style waxed outerwear, they also display some heavy flannels and graphic sweatshirts. See the looks below:
