Pharrell Williams’ Billionaire Boys Club explores the fascination with the cosmos of Ancient Egypt with the release of a Global Summer 2018 Collection, dubbed the ‘Egyptian Lover’, photographed by Anton Gottlob. The collection embodies themes of Egyptian mythology, astrology and hinging on a belief of higher powers with visuals of Egyptian iconography and hieroglyphics juxtaposed with classic Billionaire Boys Club imagery of astronauts, ray guns, and rocket ships. Statement pieces include a souvenir-inspired bowling shirt and short set, along with pieces that feature a repeat sublimation-print of the winged sphinx and Egyptian deity, Isis. Additional designs including prints of Egyptian pyramids and embroidered palm trees live on articles sporting bright colorways, giving the collection alight feel for the summertime. Nodding to Billionaire Boys Club ’s inherent theme of exploration, visuals of compasses and map prints are seen on outerwear pieces, contrasted with a vibrant rainbow tie-dye. Additionally, military-inspired pieces featuring a custom BBC leopard and diamond ‘Africa Camo’ repeat print on rip-stop nylon m-65 jackets, field shirts, cargo shorts and a safari-style vest are included. This season, the Billionaire Boys Club camouflage print has been reinterpreted, with a ‘Lizard Camo’ reflecting the exotic mood of the ‘Egyptian Lover’ Collection, and can be found on staple BBC arch logo t-shirts, crewnecks, and pullover hoodies— to name a few. The ‘Egyptian Lover’ Collection will drop the Billionaire Boys Club next week at the U.S Flagship store in NYC – Also to the E.U. Flagship and J.P. Flagships at the end of April.
