It was a 100 years ago when the luxury watch company Breitling created the first independent chronograph pushpiece. It’s important to explain a little bit further here. You see, before 1915, chronographs only existed in the form of pocket watches, and they had only one pushpiece. Breitling decided to employ its superior technical ability to offer a wrist chronograph to its clientele. With this innovation, the company also pioneered the design advancement of creating a pushpiece that stood independently from the crown to control the chronograph’s operations. The pushpiece was strategically placed at the 2 o’clock position, and just like that, a new icon was born.
To celebrate this heritage timepiece, Breitling is re-introducing the Transocean Chronograph 1915 to pay homage to this classic watch.
