David Hart F/W 2014 NYFW Presentation

There’s a reason why David Hart was one of the first menswear designer profiles we ever did on Style.No.Chaser. We truly believe that he’s one of the rising stars of the current crop of menswear designers. For his Fall 2014 NYFW presentation held at Industria studio, he didn’t disappoint at all. The entire collection was based on the late 50’s cult classic, “The Twilight Zone” and the suiting depicted unexpected and unorthodox interpretations of classic American silhouettes. Suits were presented in brave colors and varied fabrics (silk jacquards, herringbone, plaids, tweeds) and the tuxedos on display were especially sharp. The shoes were provided by heritage American brand Walk Over, and they fit perfectly with the overarching retro vibe of the clothes. Also for a nice artistic touch and a distinct nod to the stylistic weirdness of the Twilight Zone, several of the models wore optical glasses with cracked eye lenses.

Looking at the collection, you get the instant feeling that David Hart is a thinking man’s designer, and we feel that’s needed more than ever in the current menswear goldrush.
