Detroit Represent: 313ONELOVE by CarharttWIP
Written by: Staff

We love it when brands pay respect to the heritage of their hometowns. We like it even more when that hometown happens to be Detroit, one of the true meccas for avant-garde progressions in music. Carhartt WIP is showing major love to Detroit’s electronic music scene by presenting a new photography book featuring the images of renowned Berlin photographer, Marie Staggat.

The impressive new offering features visual profiles of over 170 artists. Some of the featured musicians include Amp Fiddler, Carl Craig, Claude Young, Detroit Grand Pubahs, Mad Mike Banks and Moodymann a.k.a. Kenny Dixon Jr. Throughout the book, these artists wax philosophical on their deep connections to Detroit and the impact of its rich musical history. If you really think about it, Detroit has been a major epicenter in several genres of music: jazz to soul, funk, rock and hip-hop. Props to J-Dilla!
