SNEAKER CHASER: Jerry Lorenzo’s Air Fear of God 1 Collab With Nike To Create The Perfect Street Luxe Vibe
Fear of God label doesn’t adhere to the established fashion schedule and is still personally funded with no outside investors or backers. Founder Jerry Lorenzo has created a holistic super luxe vibe around his brand which has quickly gained the respect of his peers and consumers alike. His unique self-taught innovative approach to design and streetwear aesthetic is what makes the court ready Air Fear of God 1 Nike collab a worthwhile investment for the sneaker chaser. ‘Nike saw beyond the hype and energy of the Fear of God label and noticed that our designs didn’t just look cool, but also provided solutions,’ says Lorenzo. The collaboration, explains Lorenzo, ‘is my perception of shape and design x Nike’s unparalleled knowledge of sport and performance.’ Digging in the Nike vaults for inspiration, Lorenzo taps into NIKE’s DNA juxtaposed with the street luxe aesthetic of Fear of God. The high-top basketball sneaker sports a heavy-duty midsole and Air Max 180-inspired Air window at the heel. A small Nike Swoosh sits in black on the upper, which looks to be constructed of a mix of canvas and leather. A Huarache Light-inspired TPU lacing system rounds out the military look.
