Jil Sander S/S 2015
Written by: Kwesi Adjin

Jil Sander’s S/S 2015 collection is sleek, fashion-forward and captivating.  We have all come to expect ethereal brilliance from this designer and the new collection does not disappoint.  It is hard to put one’s finger on the quintessential Jil Sander customer but we think it is fair to say that he is an experimental individual who is not afraid to explore clothes far beyond their utilitarian attributes. This customer is brave enough to play with shapes (bulky, form-fitting, tailored, etc.), and bold enough to toy with nontraditional colors (yellows, lavenders, prints, etc.).  The collection portrays a philosophy of sophisticated comfort and leisure with a touch of pure fashion adventure.  The collection features a lot of white pieces which has come to be somewhat of a Jil Sanders signature.  All the pieces look very modern and there is a tantalizing fragility underlying the whole collection that is quite endearing.  There are a few standout pieces in the collection but the one that absolutely caught the eye of Style.No.Chaser is the grayish printed trouser and top ensemble that looks so effortless and new (see this look below) – we don’t think this one is hard to pull off if you just open up the top a little and rock the pants with a sick pair of sandals (maybe not the ones shown in the picture).
