Pull out your turtleneck sweaters, find your bold patterned blazers and dust off your skinny plaid and tweed suits. Tom Ford is heading back to the 60’s & 70’s London mod scene for his upcoming Fall/Winter 2015 collection. Before we move on to discuss the collection, let’s talk a bit about the magic of Tom Ford. There are several designers out there who attempt to do what Mr. Ford does, but they end up falling short. The difference is this; Tom Ford has the natural intuition to make sexiness ooze out of the clothes he makes. It’s an intangible quality but one difference that accounts for so much. For Fall/Winter 2015, he displays this ability again. he immerses us in the retro Swinging vibe of East London and dazzles with his expertly-honed tailoring and eye for timeless elegance.
He truly shows a master class with the outerwear he presents: shearling coats, double-breasted top coats, denim jackets and fitted leather pieces. Each piece seems to have a knitted garment that works perfectly with it and the slim-fitting separates are perfect for mixing and matching casual to formal looks. For black-tie attire, he’s not holding back at all. There are bold-patterned tuxedo jackets with unique lapels that can’t be worn to just any gathering. This is refined luxury or nothing at all. The sunglasses that were used in the styling of looks is nothing short of “killer.” After so many years in the game, can it be that Tom Ford is still getting better?
