Dutch artist Piet Parra is once again teaming up with Nike to create art inspired sneakers (and a tracksuit) in color combos that will make the flames of the hottest inferno say “damn, that is fire”. On 07/02/2018, Parra (as he is short handedly referred to) and Nike unveiled new editions of the Air Max 1 and Zoom Spiridon with multipatterned uppers in colorways that can only be described as a ‘mosaic of visual goodness’. The mix of polka dots and stripes (taken from an abstract painting representing Dutch city and country landscapes) in a variety of colors seem to clash at first glance, but any fashion loving person with a discerning eye will quickly grasp the out-of-the-box appeal of the designs. There is another Air Max 1 without swooshes that will only be available to the friends and family of Parra. To finish out the collaboration, there is a tracksuit with the same abstract patterns that serve as the axiomatic cherry on the top. The sneakers and tracksuit will be available on 07/21/2018 directly from Nike and select retailers.
Parra last collaborated with Nike in 2009 on an Air Max 1 with the “Amsterdam’ colorway that is still considered one of the most successful and valuable Nike collabs ever.
