For Fall 2014, Miuccia Prada is certainly feeling more than a little “retro.” Gone are the uber-slim silhouettes and distinct prints we usually see from her. Instead we see more roomy silhouettes, a lot of them 70’s inspired, but still with a heavy emphasis on tailoring. Overall, the majority of the collection was very wearable, that is, if you ignore the intentionally askew skinny scarfs that appear in almost every ensemble. It was also interesting to see her play with off-kilter color palettes – slate and cobalt blues, mustard shades, burnt oranges and more. Only Miuccia can take a safari jacket and matching trouser ensemble and make them look so updated and modern.
