Pyer Moss Presents “Seven Mothers” for Collection 2

Our DNA is built on family. For Collection 2 of Reebok by Pyer Moss, we not only wanted to highlight black families but also pull back the curtain, exposing the nontraditional stories being told in the media. “Seven Mothers,” tells the story of a young boy who loses his mother and the community that came together to raise him.

Kerby Jean-Raymond of Pyer Moss continues to positively reframe black narratives through his long-awaited Collection 2 that celebrates culture, strength, and black love to the fullest. The collection was officially release to the public on Friday, April 12, with a pop-up shop in New York City. A short film, “Seven Mothers,” created with Director X will be shown each hour during the pop-up experience, is a semi-autobiographical tribute to the seven women who helped raise Jean-Raymond after his mother’s passing. “It was amazing working with Director X because unbeknownst to us our stories were so intertwined. He spent a good amount of time living in Brooklyn not far from where I grew up. As we spoke about the vision for Seven Mothers it was like talking to my long-lost Canadian cousin” said Kerby.
