Resurrect By Night: AUTHENTIC STREET STYLE

“Hip Hop, Punk, and Rock culture inspired me to create this collection. I take references from the 70s and 80s to mash together a unique art streetwear collection” commented Daren Chambers. Inspired by romantic freedom- focused fashion of that era and influenced by pure, authentic street culture that was real in the Rotten Apple before Hip-Hop and not a fashion statement – Resurrect By Night clothing features Chambers’ colorful, hand-painted designs adorned with social and political statements.

Born in the Bronx, NY of mixed African American and Puerto Rican descent. Unfortunately, at birth, he was born with a congenital disability. He is legally blind in his left eye, but that does not stop him from his artistic ability. He is a 3rd generation artist. He inherited his creative genes from his father, a painter who introduced his son to the iconic punk and rock groups of the 70’s and 80’s and his grandfather also studied art at the Arts Students League and exhibited at the Studio Museum in Harlem. Chambers, a self-taught artist, has been painting since the age of six and soon became convinced that painting was his destiny. To pursue his passion, he began formal art training at the High School of Art, and Design in New York.

He has brought his art to the masses through art designs on clothing now available at Barney’s NY & Barney’s Beverly Hills and has created a body of work in which he uses an unusual mix media and techniques to create two and three-dimensional pieces.
