SNC Approved: The Workwear Leather Bomber
Written by: Geo Hagan Photography by: Ben Ferrari

The best times in men’s fashion for dressing up and looking fly are those transition phases when it’s not too cold and not too hot. This is when you get to play around with your daily ‘fits and layer different pieces without looking like a complete hobo. In NYC, the last couple of weeks have been quite dreadful with the tundra-type conditions we were forced to endure. But things are looking up now. The sun is staying up longer and the first sparks of spring are starting to show.
With the mercury meter being more adventurous, it was an awesome time to break out this workwear-themed leather bomber jacket I recently scored from Timberland. To be absolutely honest, whenever I throw this jacket on, I feel like Lt. Tom Kazansky aka Ice Man from the classic flick, Top Gun. And whenever I pop up that shearling collar, forget about it, it becomes an all-out “lituation.”

There are a lot of features to like about this Timberland leather piece:

– The outer is made from 100% premium leather

– The collar is made from 100% shearling

– The inner lining is a 100% cotton “blanket”

– There are three front pockets; one internal zip pocket at left

– The Length is just right and it cuts right at the waist (giving that authentic vintage bomber feel)

Apparently, the workman jacket is supposed to be making a huge comeback this spring, and this coat melds that vibe with the bomber silhouette that’s always in vogue. If you’ve been searching for that versatile, transition weather jacket, this might just be it. Check it out for yourself here.

For those who might be wondering, the other pieces I’m rocking in the image above are: Knit hat by Bolivares, Camouflage shirt jacket by Jack Spade, Sunglasses by GAP and denim by Mott and Bow
