The Martian starring Matt Damon was a huge hit at the movies recently, but here’s a story regarding a space mission that actually happened. In 1971, the Apollo 15 Lunar Mission successfully landed on the moon, and one of the officers on board was Commander Dave Scott. He is officially the seventh man to walk on the moon, and when he did make that historical moon walk, he was wearing a Bulova Chronograph. This is of significance because all the men who walked on the moon prior to him wore Omega Speedmasters – issued by NASA.
At a recent high stakes auction held by Boston-Based RR Auctions, Dave Scott’s Apollo 15 lunar surface chronograph watch sold for a whopping $1,625,000.See the actual watch below:
