Originally worn by members of the United States Navy in WWII, the Deck Jacket has been recreated for FW16 by NYC brand, Outlier. To really explain why this is a must-have jacket for Fall, let’s talk about the different technical factors that go into making this garment. The outer layer is made from Strongtwill, and this consists of dozens of fine-air, forged Supplex fibers twisted into thick, chunky yarns. The collar is lined with Strongwool to truly enhance the warmth factor of the coat. The inner-layer is where this jacket really earns its value. It’s made from Strongwool Fleece; this fleece is crafted in Italy, and combines sturdy wool with nylon and polyester. The double-faced technical approach is what makes this jacket rank really high on our “want list” this winter. See pics of the jacket below:
The jacket also features a snap chest pocket, and inner sleeve cuffs for added warmth. It also feels biothane side adjustments that allow the wearer to cinch the jacket at the waist.
