Tiger of Sweden S/S 2015 Runway Show

The three-day menswear showcase London Collections:Men kicked off on 06/15/2014 with some standout collections that showed much promise.  One that caught our eye was Tiger of Sweden that presented their Spring/Summer 2015 catwalk show on June 17th.  The brand known for its tailored cuts presented a well-rounded collection complete with sophisticated and precision-cut trousers, suits, jackets, waistcoats, shirts and shorts.  The color pallet ran the gamut from blacks, grays, burgundies, whites and some other beautiful variations.  The general feel of the clothes was ready-to-wear chic sophistication. Fabrics looked luxurious with some splattering of patterns and leather. The apparel embodied a sort of sophisticated youthfulness that would stand out in a conservative workplace, a fashion forward venue, as well as hipster havens.  Pinstripes make some noticeable appearances in trousers and suits that look reincarnated from the 1920s and freshened up for today’s nostalgic audiences.  A standout ensemble for us is the grayish pants and jacket combination with ‘oh-so-sweet’ brown suede boots (see below).

With a brand philosophy “A Different Cut”, Tiger of Sweden, which was founded in Stockholm in 1903 (Markus Schwarmann and Hjalmar Nordström) as a men’s tailoring brand, has now grown over the past century to operate across 3 continents.  Current designer, Ronnie “Junior” McDonald (pictured below) shows that a no nonsense tailored aesthetic with modern flair is a winning combination.
