Abloh continues to think beyond “fast fashion” and into the future as well as digging in his past experiences that help shape his approach to design. This time around he is collaborating with Kaleidoscope Magazine for his latest installation. Founded by Carhartt WIP and Slam Jam, Spazio Maiocchi is a new social space in Milan where art, design and fashion blend, aiming to shape new cultural experiences. This newly renovated space provides the setting for the Chicago-native designer VIRGIL ABLOH to unveil his manifesto for “streetwear as the next global art movement” — thinking of streetwear as a movement and “a way of making across disciplines, and ultimately a new Renaissance breaking the barrier between high culture and real life.” Virgil will be present a special edition of Kaleidoscope’s new issue, which will include a T-shirt and signed artwork, as well as an installation and billboard commission. The exhibition runs just one night on November 30th, open to the public between 7pm to 9pm.
