Since the success of Tesla, other car companies have been pressing their design + innovation departments to deliver futuristic vehicles that make use of electricity as their main propellant source. Enter the new Polestar from Volvo. Don’t get it twisted though, this isn’t your neighborhood variety Chevy Volt or Toyota Prius, this super-sleek coupe definitely punches above its weight. The first edition of the Polestar – Polestar 1, packs an engine that delivers 600 horsepower and 737 pound-feet of torque. Being that it’s a hybrid, the unique feature is that it can also run only on electric power for about 90-something miles, courtesy of its 34-kwh battery.
Everything from its immaculately designed exterior and its plush interior give off a luxury vibe. And the price tag definitely fits the bill. To get the Polestar 1, be prepared to drop north of $155,000. Orders are being taken now for the release date in 2019. Find out more about the Polestar here.
