We have featured Will Leather Goods on Style.No.Chaser before, so we were really stoked to hear about the Oregon-based brand opening their first East Coast retail shop in Nolita, Manhattan. The brand was started by Will Adler in 1981 with just belts – but over the years, it has grown into one of the most respected leather goods makers in the fashion industry.
Their new downtown Manhattan outpost is a sight to behold. The rustic walls of the shop are made from reclaimed Doug Fir Heartwood direct from Oregon, and you will certainly be awed by the 10-ft antique saw blade that serves as one of the most innovative fixtures we’ve ever come across. And talk about going green – the store actually has a living moss plant wall and there is also a vintage-themed espresso bar and coffee roast area to replenish the guests as they peruse the myriad of offerings.
Overall, the juxtaposition here is quite impressive – the bustling and vibrant streets of downtown Manhattan set against the woodsy Pacific Northwest ambience of the Will Leather store. Somehow it all works though, and if you’re in the neighborhood – be sure to check it out. It located at 29 Prince Street.
